It was amazing to witness this miracle that my dog inspired.
Shiloh and I went on our first visit to a skilled nursing facility that we were considering visiting on a regular basis. I wanted to see how Shiloh would do there. When we arrived, the director of the facility saw Shiloh and said there was a woman there who had hit her head and hadn’t spoken in about three days. The director knew the woman had a Bichon Frise dog that she loved, but had to give up when she moved into the facility. When the director saw Shiloh she asked to have the woman brought down to meet him.
When the woman was brought into the room she looked blank and lifeless. But when she saw Shiloh her face lit up, and she started talking. In fact, she was talking so much that the director started to video the encounter so the woman’s kids could see her talking again.
It was amazing to witness this miracle that my dog inspired. It was truly a wonderful thing.
